Privacy notice

DIY Durango is operated by Animas Marketing. This notice explains, in plain language, what information the course collects, why, and what we do with it. We have tried to keep it short and specific rather than long and vague.

What we collect

• Your account details. The name, email address, business name, and (optionally) website you give us when you sign up, and the date you agreed to these terms.
• How you found us. If you arrived from a link, ad, email, or another website, we note which one (for example the campaign name in the link, or the website you came from). We record only the site and page, never what you searched for.
• Your course progress. Which lessons and steps you have completed, the points and badges you have earned, and when you were last active.
• What you connect. If you choose to connect Google Analytics, Google Search Console, your Google Business Profile, or your website, we store the connection and read the specific measurements the lessons check.
• Paid plans. If you start DIY Plus or DIY Pro, our payment processor, Stripe, handles your card. We keep your plan, its status and renewal date, and a record of the renewal terms you agreed to. We never see or store your full card number.
• Your customers' contact details (DIY Pro). If you send review requests, we store the names and email addresses you add and use them only to send the requests you choose to send. Every request has a one-click unsubscribe, and anyone who unsubscribes is never emailed a review request again.
• Basic technical information. Standard request data such as your IP address and browser type, used to keep the service secure and working.

Why we collect it

To create and secure your account, to show you the right next lesson, to verify the tasks a lesson asks you to do, and to support you when you ask for help. We also use your account details and how you found us to understand which businesses the course is reaching.

Animas Marketing, which runs DIY Durango, keeps your name, email, business name, website, and how you found us in its own customer records. That lets us recognize your business if you ever ask us for more help, and occasionally tell you about related Animas Marketing services. You can ask us to stop at any time by emailing support@animasmarketing.com. Your course progress and anything you connect from Google are not part of those records.

Connecting Google

Connecting Google is optional and can be disconnected at any time from My Business. When connected, we read only what a lesson needs to check your progress — your Google Analytics traffic numbers, your Search Console site and sitemap status, and your Google Business Profile listing details (hours, photos, posts, and review activity). This data is shown only to you inside your own course.

We only change something on Google when you ask us to. On DIY Plus and DIY Pro you can reply to a Google review: we post the reply you approved, under your business name, only after you press the post button. On DIY Pro you can schedule Business Profile posts: we publish the post you wrote or approved at the time you picked, and you can cancel it before then. A photo you attach to a post is stored at a public web address so Google can fetch it, with its location and camera details removed. We never delete anything in your Google account and never change your listing details. If you ask for a suggested review reply or post caption, the review or post text is sent to our AI provider only to write that suggestion.

DIY Durango's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can also revoke our access at any time from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your information.
• We do not share your course progress with other businesses.
• We do not use your business data to train advertising profiles.

Who can see your information

Your account and progress are visible to you and to Animas Marketing staff supporting the program. Service providers who host and run the software (for example our hosting and email providers) process data on our behalf under contract. DIY Durango is built and run by Animas Marketing.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and support records. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your personal details, disconnect any connected accounts, and remove you from Animas Marketing's customer records unless you are also an Animas Marketing client.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Email support@animasmarketing.com and we will take care of it.

Changes to this notice

If we change how the course handles information in a meaningful way, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
